Kwekerij De Zuidplas expands: 5 more hectares for even more beautiful gerberas!

At Kwekerij De Zuidplas, we have big news: we are expanding! Our production area is increasing by no less than 5 hectares. This expansion gives us the opportunity to better respond to the growing demand for our large-flowered gerberas. A great step forward for our team and our customers!

An important milestone

Together with co-owners Leen Weerheim, Juriaan Weerheim, and Rik Paul, we have been given the opportunity to purchase an adjacent plot at one of our current locations in Moerkapelle. The expansion means that our total production area will amount to 11 hectares after construction.

Phased construction for a flying start

The construction of the new greenhouse will be carried out in two phases. The first 2.5 hectares will already be operational in the second half of this year, so we can start production immediately. The second part will follow in 2026. With these new facilities, we continue to meet the high expectations of our customers and maintain our position at the top of the gerbera market.

Why this expansion?

“The current developments in the gerbera sector and the increasing demand for our products from our existing customers have convinced us to take this step,” the management explains. Thanks to this expansion, we can serve our customers even better and remain a reliable supplier of quality gerberas.
